"YOU LOVED ME INTO BEING":
A mural on the Anima in a feminist Festival
For its 10th edition, the Graffitea festival chose to celebrate its anniversary by honoring women in urban art. What could be more fitting than painting a wall on the anima?
In Jungian psychology, the anima is the archetype of the feminine present in every man and every woman. She embodies the principle of Eros, that is, the principle of relatedness, feeling, imagination, and the desire for union. In men, she acts as a guide, muse, or messenger of the deep unconscious. The anima is not just an image of femininity, but a life-giving, mysterious, and often ambivalent force that connects the ego with its soul.
The title I chose for this mural, "You Loved Me Into Being," evokes the encounter with this inner figure and the transformative psychological power of the principle of Eros. It is not through an act of will or power, but through the experience of love that a man meets his anima and gains access to previously inner resources until then inaccessible, especially creative inspiration.
